Genomics Scientist, Brain Resilience Laboratory
Knight Initiative for Brain Resilience Staff
Pin-Chung (Tony) Cheng is a Genomics Scientist at the Knight Initiative for Brain Resilience, where he focuses on methylation profiling to investigate epigenetic changes in the aging brain and uncover mechanisms of brain resilience. Tony develops single-cell multi-omic technologies and bioinformatics pipelines. He earned his M.D. from Kaohsiung Medical University and his Ph.D. from UC San Diego. Prior to joining the Knight Initiative, he worked at Altos Labs, where he developed RETrace2 — a dual-omic single-cell technology that leverages highly mutable homopolymers for lineage tracing and DNA methylation to infer cell identity.
